International Women's Day

In a few days it will be the 8 of March, a day celebrated all over the world as International Women's Day, a precious occasion to valorize the strength, determination and beauty of every woman. Over the years, this anniversary has transformed from a day of political fight to a moment of awareness: today more than ever it is essential to spread a message that speaks of female empowerment, self-determination and solidarity between women.

International Women's Day has its roots in the movements for women's rights of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. For a long time, this celebration was linked to specific political currents, but today it has transformed into a universal event that embraces every woman, regardless of origin, age or profession.

The first official celebration took place in the U.S. in 1909, and then it quickly spread to Europe in 1910, gaining recognition at an international women's conference. The date March 8 became significant in 1917, when women in Russia organized demonstrations calling for better working and living conditions. Over the years, the day expanded beyond its early associations and became a global celebration of women's achievements and contributions. In 1977, the United Nations officially recognized March 8, encouraging worldwide efforts to support and uplift women. Today, International Women’s Day is marked by events, initiatives, and moments of reflection, celebrating the strength, talent, and impact of women in all fields of life.

This year, the theme chosen by the United Nations is “For ALL women and girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.” A clear message: it is time to act to ensure that every woman and girl can have the same opportunities and the power to change their future.

Beauty has never been just an aesthetic issue but has been and can still be a real act of empowerment. Makeup and self-care can be powerful tools to feel strong, confident and ready to face any challenge. The 8 of March can be the perfect time to embrace your uniqueness
